Vercel is seeking a Technical Solutions Architect to own the technical proof system for enterprise sales. This role bridges product, engineering, and sales to accelerate deal velocity and win rates through standardized, repeatable proof-of-concept (POC) frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the Technical Proof System: Build POC playbooks for priority product areas (Agent Platform, Composable Commerce, Web Performance, v0 Enterprise, AI Gateway). Define success criteria, baseline-to-target metrics, and weekly readouts. Create standardized proof artifacts including benchmarks, reference architectures, migration diagrams, and security responses. Partner with Field Engineering to improve POC discipline and consistency.
Build Competitive Intelligence: Create architecture-level positioning against Infrastructure and AI platform competitors. Define where Vercel wins and where it doesn't fit, backed by technical evidence. Build persona-specific problem libraries with proof metrics. Feed win/loss insights into sales plays and product feedback loops.
Translate Product to Field Readiness: Convert product launches into field-ready assets within one sprint (demos, architectures, proof plans, objection handling). Build an AE Technical Fluency Program covering architecture, AI infrastructure, and consumption models. Enable AEs to lead technical conversations without SE dependency in early stages. Feed field insights back to Product and Engineering.
Raise the SE Org Floor: Build structured technical discovery playbooks and define technical stage gates. Run peer-led deal deconstructions and create coaching tools for SE managers focused on proof quality and scoping.
Enable AI-Native Technical Selling: Own technical narrative for Agent Platform, AI Gateway, AI SDK, and v0. Build benchmarks, simulations, and reference architectures for AI use cases. Define migration paths from legacy and hyperscaler systems.
Required Background: Distinguished performance as a Solutions Engineer with experience in complex enterprise deals. Deep technical fluency in architecture, AI infrastructure, and competitor offerings. Ability to build reference architectures and proof frameworks. Systems thinker who builds scalable programs with a builder mindset. Cross-functional credibility across Sales, Product, and Engineering.
The role includes in-office anchor days (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) if located within commuting distance of SF, NYC, or Austin offices; otherwise fully remote.
