In this role, you will own the merchant lifecycle strategy and activation funnel, driving measurable improvements in merchant onboarding, engagement, and retention. Your core mission is to increase merchant activation velocity, reduce early churn, and maximize Net Revenue Retention through data-driven experimentation and behavioral insights.
Key responsibilities include: (1) Moving the activation rate from 61% to 67% within 12 months by diagnosing funnel leaks and shipping solutions every sprint; (2) Delivering the full incremental GMV plan for the activation portfolio; (3) Rebuilding the first 30 days post-approval as an automated multi-channel journey in Braze (push, WhatsApp, email, in-app) that drives first purchase without manual work; (4) Running a weekly experimentation cadence with clean incrementality reads, at least one live test per week with holdout groups.
You must own a metric end-to-end and drive it with data. You will design lifecycle journeys across multiple channels, manage frequency capping and fatigue, and distinguish between friction and intent problems. You'll write SQL independently (joins, aggregations, window functions, cohort analysis) against Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery. You understand incrementality testing, ROI analysis, and connect every decision to GMV and unit economics.
You will manage at least one direct report and develop the team, setting clear expectations and giving continuous feedback. You influence Product and Brand teams without formal authority, winning prioritization through strong cases rather than escalation. You operate at AI-L3 (Builder) or above, building reusable workflows and automations that scale team productivity.
