Mighty Networks is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to own financial planning and analysis for a Series B SaaS community platform company. You will be the primary owner of the operating model, rolling forecast, annual budget, and monthly financial reporting that leadership uses to make strategic decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining the company operating model covering revenue, headcount, operating expenses, and cash flow
- Running the annual budget and regular reforecast cycles with department leaders
- Producing monthly budget vs. actuals reporting with variance analysis and actionable insights
- Building and maintaining SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, retention, CAC, LTV, gross margin)
- Modeling pricing, packaging, and new product scenarios to show revenue, margin, and cash impact
- Tracking and forecasting cost structure including hosting, infrastructure, and third-party software
- Preparing financial materials for board meetings and investor updates
- Partnering with accounting on the close and improving data systems and processes
- Conducting ad hoc analysis for leadership on hiring plans, vendor decisions, and new product bets
You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with accounting, product, engineering, sales, success, and marketing teams. This is an individual contributor role for someone who has owned FP&A before and wants to drive it independently.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in FP&A with meaningful time at a subscription software or SaaS company
- Proven experience owning a forecast (not just contributing to one)
- Ability to build a three-statement operating model from scratch
- Fluency in Excel and Google Sheets with clean, flexible, easy-to-follow models
- Deep knowledge of SaaS metrics and how they connect to cash
- Understanding of accounting principles including revenue recognition, accruals, and close processes
- Independent work style with strong judgment about quality standards
- Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to pull data from systems like Stripe, general ledger, CRM, and product databases
- Proficiency using AI tools as part of workflow (beyond basic prompting)
- High accuracy and attention to detail
Bonus qualifications (not required):
- Experience modeling pricing changes or new product launches at subscription businesses
- Background at creator, community, or marketplace businesses with platform revenue flows
- Experience as first or only FP&A hire building the function from scratch
- SQL comfort or willingness to learn quickly
