Tracebit is a seed-stage cybersecurity startup helping security teams at companies like Snyk, Docker, and Riot Games implement 'assume breach' strategies at scale. The company detects intrusions in critical environments using canary-based deception technology. They've achieved strong product-market fit, doubled ARR last quarter, and are backed by top-tier investors including Accel and FirstMark. As Founding Sales Engineer, you'll be a key member of the Customer Engineering team, reporting directly to the Director of Customer Engineering. You'll own the technical foundation for customer acquisition and outcomes delivery as the company scales rapidly. Key responsibilities include: running discovery calls and tailored product demos for prospects (adjusting messaging for CISOs vs. security engineers); designing and executing Proof-of-Value engagements with clear success criteria; building technical sales collateral including demo scripts, architecture diagrams, and FAQ documents; providing technical guidance throughout the sales cycle on security, compliance, and integrations; gathering customer feedback and competitive intelligence to inform product development; and representing Tracebit at major cybersecurity conferences. You'll work closely with sales, product, engineering, and customers to ensure successful evaluations and platform outcomes. The role requires translating technical concepts into clear value propositions for both technical and executive audiences. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of customer-facing technical sales experience at B2B SaaS companies, preferably in cybersecurity or developer tooling. You should understand cloud infrastructure and DevOps, learn technical concepts quickly, and thrive in fast-paced startup environments. No coding required, but strong technical aptitude and ability to ask smart questions are essential. The role is based in the new Manhattan office but can be fully remote within Eastern or Central US timezones. Remote employees are expected to visit the office quarterly. The company operates office-first (5 days/week in-office for most staff) but is making an exception for this role to attract top talent. Working hours are typically 9am-6pm with flexibility and occasional off-hours work as a founding team member.
