As Founding Head of Marketing, you will build the marketing function from the ground up, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a full-spectrum role spanning strategy and execution across positioning, product marketing, content, founder amplification, events, and team building.
Key responsibilities include: defining core messaging and positioning that resonates with customers and experts; developing foundational sales and marketing assets (decks, one-pagers, pricing collateral, website content); establishing a consistent content engine producing case studies, POV pieces, white papers, and newsletters; developing and executing a strategy to amplify the CEO/founder's thought leadership across LinkedIn and social channels; owning field marketing and dinner series events end-to-end; and building the marketing function by identifying capability gaps, hiring talent, and scaling operations as the company grows.
You'll partner closely with Sales, CS, and Product to translate positioning into tools that win and retain accounts. You'll move fluidly between buyer-facing messaging, long-form thought leadership, executive content, and social media. The role requires hands-on execution initially—building decks, one-pagers, posts, and campaigns yourself—while establishing scalable playbooks and processes.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of marketing experience, including early-stage company background where you've built a marketing function from scratch. You need deep product marketing expertise (positioning, messaging, segmentation, competitive strategy, enablement), B2B enterprise sales environment experience, exceptional writing ability across formats and audiences, and comfort using AI to increase output quality and volume without sacrificing thinking or standards. A builder's mindset is essential—you form points of view, own work end-to-end, and maintain high quality bars.
