Melotech is a media and entertainment company that creates art through technology. Founded by entrepreneur Soheil Mirpour and backed by top VCs including Cherry Ventures, Speedinvest, and GFC, the company has reached over 3 billion minutes of consumption in just 24 months.
As Founding Head of Brand, you will be the first brand hire tasked with defining Melotech's identity from scratch. There is no existing brand book, house style, or established narrative—you will create all of it. Your responsibilities include:
- Defining a coherent narrative that explains what Melotech is building to fans, press, and partners, and ensuring consistency across all touchpoints
- Owning how the world perceives the company across earned media, owned channels, partnerships, and self-created moments
- Collaborating with creative teams to develop and ship campaigns and stunts that earn attention organically
- Leveraging your personal network to open doors with press, creators, and brands, turning relationships into partnerships
- Directing agencies and freelancers on execution while maintaining strategic leadership
- Building reputation groundwork in a category under public scrutiny, leading conversations rather than reacting to them
This is a zero-to-one building role, not a caretaking position. You will work directly with the founder with freedom to make bold strategic calls and budget to execute them. The company operates with flat hierarchies, remote-first culture, and regular global offsites for strategy and team bonding.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years in brand, communications, or creative marketing, preferably at an early-stage company
- Proven experience in a zero-to-one brand journey where you shaped the brand early rather than inheriting it
- Track record of creating coherent overarching stories, not just managing communications at scale
- Demonstrated ability to create campaigns, stunts, formats, or moments that generated organic buzz and conversation
- Strong personal network with ability to open partnerships independently
- Thrives in fast-paced, performance-oriented environments
- Internet-native with knowledge of trends and what's breaking
- Bonus: Music industry relationships, artist or label connections, and passion for music, media, or social
