Wafer is building AI infrastructure software that optimizes AI workloads for energy and cost efficiency, serving trillions of tokens monthly for mission-critical applications at leading AI companies.
You will be Wafer's founding growth hire, working directly with the founders and GTM lead to build and own the marketing function from the ground up. This is an unusually broad, hands-on role spanning strategy, execution, and creative work across all marketing disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategy & Positioning: Define Wafer's marketing strategy, target audiences, narrative, and priorities. Make technical differentiation clear without oversimplification.
- Brand & Content: Develop Wafer's voice and visual direction. Create content for website, X, LinkedIn, newsletters, video, and other formats.
- Founder-Led Social: Transform founders' ideas, technical work, and market observations into distinctive posts, essays, and commentary.
- Launches & Communications: Plan and execute product, model, partnership, research, and company announcements across owned channels, communities, press, podcasts, and partners.
- Events & Community: Own strategy and execution for conferences, dinners, meetups, workshops, and developer events.
- Technical & Customer Storytelling: Produce case studies, technical articles, benchmark narratives, videos, and sales materials with engineers and customers.
- Website & Distribution: Maintain website, create campaign/launch pages, and distribute work through social, email, communities, events, and partners.
- Measurement & Operations: Establish practical scorecards, evaluate performance, and build lightweight workflows using AI, automation, and software.
Success means Wafer has a clear, consistent, differentiated story; technical developments reliably become strong launches and commercial assets; Wafer and its founders build credible voices in the AI infrastructure community; events create meaningful relationships; customer outcomes become high-quality proof; and marketing measurably contributes to adoption, qualified conversations, and momentum.
