AssemblyAI is seeking a Founding Enterprise Account Executive to own a strategic book of enterprise accounts and drive revenue across its Voice AI infrastructure offerings. The company processes 600M+ monthly inference calls, 1M+ hours of audio daily, and powers 2B+ end-user experiences. With under 100 employees and ~$500K ARR per employee, AssemblyAI is one of the most capital-efficient AI companies, serving thousands of customers including Granola, Fireflies, Figure AI, and CallRail.
In this role, you will own the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting through production rollout. Key responsibilities include generating pipeline through proactive outbound (personalized outreach, conferences, events, warm introductions), crafting value-driven communications with custom benchmarks and competitive insights, developing authentic champions within target accounts, and engaging multiple technical stakeholders (CTO, CPO, VP Engineering, VP Product, VP of AI) in parallel to build consensus and de-risk deals.
You'll position AssemblyAI's value and pricing against alternatives with quantitative differentiation, drive urgency through business value, quarterback complex multi-threaded deals, and partner closely with Customer and Technology teams to shape go-to-market strategy and represent the enterprise voice of the customer.
Required qualifications: 4+ years of enterprise infrastructure or API sales experience closing large deals with engineering and product audiences; proven track record building pipeline from scratch and breaking into cold accounts; technical fluency with API architectures, model accuracy tradeoffs, and deployment options; demonstrated ability to identify and develop internal champions; high sense of urgency and ownership; comfort with product-led sales motions; deep understanding of enterprise procurement, legal, and security processes; willingness to travel 50%+ monthly for customer visits, industry events, and team offsites.
This is a cross-functional role requiring close partnership with Applied AI, Research, Engineering, Marketing, and Deployment teams. The company operates as a meritocracy with minimal bureaucracy, no heavy approval processes, and genuine ownership for every team member.
