Bastion is hiring a founding Account Executive to build and own the sales motion for its custody and conversion products. The role is based in New York City (hybrid) and reports directly to the CEO.
Bastion provides regulated infrastructure for holding, moving, and issuing stablecoins. The platform combines custodial wallets, global payment orchestration, and stablecoin issuance capabilities. Customers—primarily fintechs, payments providers, and crypto companies—can use each product independently or integrate them into a single end-to-end flow.
As the founding Account Executive, you will own the full sales process end-to-end: finding prospects, qualifying inbound leads, running discovery calls, structuring deals, and closing customers. You will generate pipeline through outbound prospecting (email, LinkedIn, warm intros, conference follow-ups) and convert inbound inquiries. You will partner with the technical account manager on integration scoping, the commercial strategy lead on pricing and deal structure, and the legal team on agreements. The technical and commercial heavy lifting is supported; your job is to find the right companies, run a clean process, and close.
This is an individual contributor role building the motion from the ground up on a small team. You will operate independently and own your own pipeline.
Success metrics are clear: by day 15, you should be running inbound qualification and generating outbound pipeline while learning the product. By day 30, you own the number—running the full sales process, hitting a sustainable outbound cadence, and generating qualified pipeline to support quarterly targets. By day 60, you scale what works—refining messaging, documenting a playbook for future sellers, and expanding into adjacent segments.
Key challenges include selling to multiple buyers (CTOs/engineering leads and finance teams) on the same timeline, matching customer urgency with fast integration, finding prospects before RFPs exist, competing against well-funded alternatives on product flexibility and regulatory coverage, and adapting to a rapidly shifting market.
The role is ideal for a polished, self-directed sales professional who can operate independently, qualify deals rigorously, and build a repeatable motion from scratch.
