AssemblyAI is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer for the Triage team. You'll own a book of customer accounts (up to $50K ARR each), solving their technical problems directly and building/managing AI agents that handle first-line customer contact. Most work happens in Slack, collaborating with customers and internal Engineering/Research teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own technical relationships with assigned customer accounts; diagnose integration issues and unblock them quickly. Identify accounts ready to grow and route commercial conversations to the Portfolio team.
- Build, iterate, and manage internal AI agents for customer support and operations, including the customer-facing chat agent. Own agent quality and continuously improve their performance.
- Handle escalations from the chat agent: solve the customer's immediate problem, then improve the agent to handle similar cases autonomously in the future.
- Partner with Engineering and Research teams: file well-evidenced bugs and feature requests, and translate customer feedback into product improvements.
- Improve developer experience by fixing confusing documentation and SDKs at the source.
