Salary: USD 61,740 - 75,000 / annual
Onbe is a fast-growing fintech company transforming global payments and disbursement solutions. As a Financial Operations Staff Accountant, you will be a key member of the Financial Operations team, responsible for ensuring the completeness and integrity of financial records. Your primary focus will be reconciling financial transactions and accounts, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to maintain the company's financial health.
Key responsibilities include performing routine reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounts. You will identify and help resolve basic discrepancies in financial data, escalating complex issues as needed. The role requires ensuring accuracy in financial transaction entry, maintaining organized records and supporting documentation, and assisting in preparing standard financial reports and summaries for internal use.
You will support compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements by following internal controls and company policies. Collaboration with the finance team and other departments is essential for supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The role also includes exploring opportunities for process automation and implementing tools or systems to enhance efficiency in reconciliation tasks.
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week onsite at one of three locations: Chicago, Philadelphia, or Dallas metro areas. Occasional travel may be required.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience), 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, familiarity with general accounting principles and basic financial reporting, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in finance and accounting is expected. Great Plains experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
