Salary: USD 65,000 - 75,000 / annual
Via is transforming public transportation systems into smart, data-driven digital networks. As a Field Operations Manager on the Operations team, you will lead daily onsite operations and serve as the operational backbone ensuring reliable, safe, and accessible transportation for the communities Via serves.
You will run daily onsite operations, making real-time decisions about fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and rider needs. You'll guide and support drivers by building strong relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring they feel equipped to deliver excellent service. You'll turn rider and community feedback into tangible improvements by spotting patterns and collaborating with internal teams on actionable operational enhancements.
Using data and technology, you'll diagnose service performance issues and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and rider experience. You'll act as the operational bridge between city partners, drivers, and Via's central teams to help bring community goals to life. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role requiring you to be in the field, learning the service firsthand, and solving problems where they happen.
You are operationally experienced with a background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work. You're relationship-oriented, earning trust through clear communication and follow-through. You're hands-on and proactive, preferring field-based problem-solving. You think both tactically and strategically, addressing immediate issues while developing long-term solutions. You're mission-driven, motivated by expanding transportation access and improving community mobility.
This is a fully in-person position with the expectation that you will be onsite 4–5 days per week in Rochester, MN.
