Anthropic is seeking a senior, founding-leader Field Marketing Manager to build and lead the APAC regional marketing function from the ground up. This is an L7 role requiring someone with strong strategic judgment who can autonomously own the entire regional function end-to-end: setting strategy, building operating systems, carrying pipeline numbers, and representing marketing credibly to both regional sales leadership and global marketing leadership. The role balances seniority with scrappiness. For an initial period, the successful candidate will be a team of one—writing strategy documents, running planning sessions, and negotiating with agencies independently. As the region expands, they will define the team plan and hire and lead the growing function. Key responsibilities include building scalable field marketing frameworks and processes from scratch; driving initiatives across enterprise accounts while building scaled programs for startups; creating and running programs such as executive roundtables, customer events, industry conferences, partner programs, and ABM activations; partnering closely with APAC sales leadership to align programs to territory and account-specific pipeline goals; establishing measurement frameworks including lead scoring, attribution models, and ROI reporting; evaluating and selecting premium third-party events with high-impact activation strategies; collaborating with Global Field Marketing and central teams to align APAC programs with company-wide strategy while meeting local market needs; coordinating with Solutions Marketing and Product Marketing for consistent messaging; managing regional resources including partner and vendor relationships; building and managing the regional field marketing budget with strong financial discipline; and driving continuous improvement through post-program analysis and data-driven optimization. Regional judgment is critical. One person cannot serve five sub-regions equally, so the role fundamentally involves sequencing decisions: which markets receive real first-party investment, which receive partner-led coverage, and which wait. The candidate must make these calls, defend them to sales leaders in each market, and revisit them as signal emerges. Partner fluency is essential—it is the primary distribution mechanism in this region. Candidates with only first-party program experience may find the partner-led leverage model unfamiliar. Ideal candidates include: (1) first-in-region builders who then scaled field or regional marketing functions at enterprise software companies, bringing experience with both building from scratch and scaling; (2) partner-led regional leaders with co-marketing and demand program experience through cloud providers, resellers, and distributors across APAC; or (3) multi-market APAC field marketing leaders from scaled tech companies with market fluency, local vendor and event relationships, and cultural range.
