Exa is a $2.2B-valued AI search infrastructure company (Series C, a16z-led) building the search engine for the AI era. Their Search API powers AI agents, Fortune 500s, and AI labs. This is the first dedicated field marketing hire for EMEA, based in London with regular travel across Europe and periodic trips to SF HQ. You will build the EMEA field marketing program from the ground up, owning both strategy and execution. Strategic ownership includes market prioritization (deciding which European markets to focus on first), format selection (hosted dinners vs. conferences vs. account-based events), and regional program sequencing. You will determine which venues, cities, and event types resonate with European enterprise buyers in the AI infrastructure space—a buyer base that moves differently than US counterparts. Execution spans the full event lifecycle across multiple countries: venue selection, vendor management, catering, production, invitations, run-of-show design, on-site management, and post-event follow-up. You will handle the operational complexity of working across time zones, managing local vendors and contracts, navigating GDPR compliance, and adapting to cultural and regulatory differences between markets. You will partner closely with EMEA sales to identify target accounts, design invitation strategies, execute in-deal events, and measure success by pipeline sourced and influenced. You own lead capture, timely handoffs to lifecycle marketing, and follow-up motions that respect GDPR consent requirements. You will also own regional budget, vendor contracts in multiple currencies, compliance documentation, and build the playbook that future European hires will inherit. The role emphasizes using AI to compress operational load—targeting, personalized outreach, vendor research, translation support, and post-event summarization—so one person can effectively cover a continent. Success is measured by credible program presence, active seller demand for events, clean data practices, evidence-based market prioritization, invisible logistics execution, and a documented playbook that accelerates future European hiring.
