Anysphere, maker of Cursor (an AI-native code editor), is hiring Field Engineers to serve as technical partners for enterprise customers in Life Sciences. You'll be the technical face of Cursor for scientific organizations, helping programmers, researchers, scientists, and commercial teams evaluate the platform, run proofs of concept, and realize the value of agentic coding in their real workflows.
You'll work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams as a deal partner—not just a demo resource. Your responsibilities include scoping solutions, demonstrating capabilities, and acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders: engineering leaders, architects, developers, scientific computing teams, R&D, and commercial IT. This is a highly customer-facing role where technical depth, commercial instinct, and communication drive adoption and shape product direction.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with Account Executives to own technical discovery, demos, POCs, and customer expansion
- Build trusted relationships across engineering, scientific computing, R&D, and commercial IT functions
- Deep-dive into research-heavy and regulated environments to understand developer workflows and AI tooling needs
- Help customers connect Cursor to measurable outcomes: faster R&D cycles and shorter lab-to-market timelines
- Deliver technical presentations, whiteboards, and workshops for scientific and commercial audiences
- Advocate for customer needs internally with Product and Engineering teams
- Partner with post-sales teams to ensure smooth handoff and successful onboarding
- Stay current on Cursor capabilities and competitive landscape
Ideal candidates have strong communication skills and executive presence, understand the software development lifecycle, possess hands-on technical fluency (not necessarily full-time engineering), and have deal-partner instinct. Prior experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting is valued. You should be customer-obsessed, excited by Life Sciences, comfortable learning regulated and research-heavy organizations quickly, and motivated by putting AI tools in the hands of people advancing human benefit.
