Pronto AI is a global leader in commercializing autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, deploying Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) that automate operations in mines, quarries, and construction sites worldwide. The company delivers production-ready autonomy already operating in the field and is building toward becoming the world's first profitable AV technology company. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Pronto's autonomous technology on heavy equipment at a mining site in Saudi Arabia. This is a hands-on role supporting on-site deployment of autonomous systems in demanding industrial environments. Key responsibilities include: Installation & Deployment: Perform on-site installation of Pronto hardware and software solutions, including sensor systems, drive-by-wire (DBW) kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces. Install peripheral hardware such as network stations and gate systems. Conduct system calibrations and validation tests to ensure installations meet operational standards. Collaborate with Engineering and Customer teams to ensure field deployments align with specifications and support R&D projects. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure system health, reliability, and long-term performance. Monitor and log equipment conditions, identifying signs of wear or environmental impacts. Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field using diagnostic tools and logs. Communicate findings clearly to engineering teams for continuous improvement. Customer Site Support: Serve as Pronto's representative during on-site visits, maintaining professional communication with customer personnel. Provide basic training to customer staff as needed. Document all service activities, updates, and issues using internal ticketing and CRM tools. Required qualifications: 4+ years of experience in field service, automotive electronics, mechatronics, or similar technical support roles. Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing tools. Solid understanding of vehicle systems including power, CAN bus, sensors, and ECUs. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Comfortable working independently in field environments with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred qualifications: Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations. Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics. OSHA 10, MSHA Part 48, or equivalent safety certification. The role is on-site at a mining operation in Saudi Arabia with accommodation provided during deployments. The position follows a mining rotation schedule (e.g., 2 weeks on-site followed by 1 week time off) in a rugged mine environment with compliance to site-specific safety and health requirements.
