Catawiki is a global marketplace for special objects, auctioning over 100,000 unique items weekly across 80+ categories. As an Expert Fashion specialist with Japanese language fluency, you will drive the quality and growth of Catawiki's Fashion auctions targeting the Japanese market, particularly in luxury pre-owned and brand fashion.
Your core responsibilities include evaluating submitted fashion lots by reviewing descriptions, images, and details to provide fair market value estimates. You will curate and optimize weekly fashion auctions to maximize quality, bidder interest, and sell-through rates. Building and managing relationships with Japanese sellers is critical—you'll guide them to create strong, compliant listings and identify high-quality sellers through your professional network, trade fairs, and fashion communities.
You will safeguard authenticity and transparency across all listings, support Customer Service in dispute resolution, and partner with Marketing and Sales teams to increase visibility and engagement. You'll contribute to strategic initiatives that expand Catawiki's footprint in the Japanese fashion market.
Required qualifications include deep knowledge of the Japanese and international fashion market, particularly luxury bags; experience in luxury fashion retail, appraisal, or curation in a commercial or customer-facing role; strong understanding of valuation and authenticity in luxury pre-owned fashion; native-level Japanese and professional English proficiency (written and spoken); strong communication and interpersonal skills with diplomatic dispute-handling ability; solid computer skills; and genuine passion for fashion and quality standards.
This is a 100% remote role based in the UK, requiring earlier UK hours to overlap with Japanese team collaboration. You'll work with teams across Japan and Europe in a flat organizational structure where every role has broad scope and direct business impact.
