Icarus is seeking an Executive Producer, Content & Storytelling to capture and build the company's narrative as it develops solar-powered aircraft that operate at 60,000 feet for weeks at a time. This is a hands-on, technical creator role—not traditional social media or production management—requiring an exceptionally experienced individual capable of operating as a one-person production capability across factory floors, flight tests, remote airstrips, and major company milestones.
You will own the complete content lifecycle: concept development, capture, direction, photography, production, editing, animation, original music, sound design, livestreaming, publishing, and archival. The role demands expertise across commercial-grade advertising, product sizzles, social content, episodic YouTube series, and documentary-length productions. You'll shape complex aerospace narratives into compelling visual stories, develop content strategies across LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms, and understand when to deploy polished brand content versus raw, unfiltered field storytelling.
Responsibilities include documenting aircraft development and deployments, directing and shooting all productions, handling lighting, audio recording, editing, color grading, VFX, motion graphics, and 3D animation. You'll compose original music, score to picture, engineer audio, and design sound as integral storytelling elements. You'll independently plan and execute livestreams from launches and flight tests, manage technical infrastructure (cameras, audio, networking, power, connectivity), and build physical and digital brand experiences.
Additionally, you'll establish digital asset management systems with searchable, tagged archives supporting daily content, institutional memory, and multi-platform distribution. You'll apply modern creative software, automation, and AI tools to accelerate workflows, manage multiple concurrent productions at startup velocity, and exercise sound judgment around OPSEC, customer sensitivities, and competitive information.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of professional production experience with demonstrated ability to independently own end-to-end productions. You need deep expertise in cinematography, still photography, lighting, audio, editing, color, VFX, finishing, 3D animation, motion graphics, music production, and sound design. Strong proficiency with professional creative suites, livestream production, remote field connectivity, and the ability to rapidly master new tools is essential. A portfolio spanning commercial work, documentary storytelling, high-energy content, and authentic field production is required.
