Rho is a modern banking platform built for startups, enabling users to open accounts, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close books in one connected platform. The Events & Community Manager will establish Rho's presence in the Miami startup ecosystem by spearheading community initiatives and cultivating relationships with founders and VCs across South Florida.
The role is hands-on and centers on building authentic relationships through regular coffee chats, roundtables, and in-person connections. You'll develop a comprehensive events roadmap tailored to Miami's founder audiences, from curated dinners for established founders to creative, high-energy formats (workouts, wellness, social events) for earlier-stage seed and Series A founders. You'll manage event budgets and track success metrics.
Key responsibilities include fostering relationships with VCs, startup founders, and ecosystem builders to generate qualified customer leads; owning end-to-end event planning and execution, including establishing at least one major anchor event; building strategic partnerships with VC firms, accelerators, and community organizations like eMerge Americas and Miami Tech Week; cultivating a vibrant community among Rho customers through targeted programming; and representing Rho as a brand ambassador in the Miami startup ecosystem.
Required qualifications include 3-7 years of hands-on experience building and scaling engaged professional communities with demonstrated success in growing membership and engagement metrics. You need a strong existing network within Miami and South Florida startup ecosystem with established relationships with founders, operators, and VCs. A "boots on the ground" mentality and ability to become ubiquitous in a market quickly is essential. You should have deep understanding of startup ecosystem dynamics, founder/operator needs across different stages, and ability to create targeted programming. Experience establishing strategic partnerships, data-driven community building with KPI tracking, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, background at a high-growth startup or VC firm, and prior experience building communities for B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software are required. An active social media presence on Twitter/X and LinkedIn is a plus.
