Kickstarter, the leading crowdfunding platform for creative projects, is seeking an Event Marketer to join the Marketing team reporting to the Director of Brand and Communications. This role combines creative vision with operational excellence to design and execute memorable experiences for creators, backers, partners, and cultural communities.
You will own the full lifecycle of Kickstarter's event portfolio—from brand and creator events to category, industry, and community gatherings. Responsibilities include translating strategic concepts into detailed event plans, production timelines, and budgets; collaborating cross-functionally with Brand, Communications, Growth, Editorial, and other teams to define audience, purpose, creative direction, and success metrics; and developing distinctive event formats that resonate with Kickstarter's communities.
Operationally, you will manage end-to-end event execution: venue selection, vendor sourcing and negotiation, production coordination, staffing, travel logistics, run-of-show planning, guest experience design, risk mitigation, and onsite management. You'll build and maintain a diverse network of trusted vendors and cultural partners across key markets, manage event budgets with both discipline and creativity, and establish repeatable planning processes and standards.
You will anticipate challenges, make thoughtful decisions under pressure, keep stakeholders aligned, and extend event impact through content, media, and social amplification. Post-event, you'll evaluate performance and apply insights to improve future programming and investment decisions.
Ideal candidates have experience producing brand, cultural, community, or experiential events from concept through completion; strong creative instincts paired with practical execution ability; exceptional project management and organizational skills; established vendor and venue relationships; confidence managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders; strong negotiation and budget management skills; a solutions-oriented approach to live and virtual event challenges; excellent cross-functional collaboration; and genuine enthusiasm for Kickstarter's mission and creative communities.
