Serve Robotics is reimagining urban logistics with autonomous sidewalk robots for commercial deliveries across major US cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago. The company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to build and maintain workplace health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure regulatory compliance and foster a strong safety culture.
In this role, you will be the primary driver of EHS initiatives across Serve's operations. You'll develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Your responsibilities include conducting routine facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards; monitoring corrective actions; and ensuring timely compliance remediation.
You will lead or support investigations of workplace injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents, identifying root causes and developing preventive actions. You'll track incident trends and recommend systemic improvements to reduce organizational risk. A key part of your role is developing and delivering EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, while promoting a positive safety culture through engagement initiatives and safety committee support.
You'll also manage emergency preparedness efforts, including coordinating drills for fire, evacuation, and severe weather scenarios, and ensuring emergency equipment is properly maintained. Environmental stewardship is another focus area: you'll support waste management, recycling, hazardous material handling, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and disposal of regulated materials.
This is an individual contributor role that requires strong cross-functional collaboration with site leadership, employees, and external regulators. You'll need to stay current on evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices, and maintain detailed documentation and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, robotics, technology operations, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS reporting tools.
- Ability to walk operational facilities for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and access warehouse, manufacturing, and office environments.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed.
PREFERRED:
- Professional certifications: OSHA 30-Hour, ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
- Experience with contractor safety management.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
