Garner Health is transforming the U.S. healthcare system by partnering with employers to redesign healthcare delivery. The company applies 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify top-performing doctors and steer members to higher-quality care. In five years, Garner has helped 2.5 million people access better care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. The company recently raised Series E funding and has doubled revenue for five consecutive years.
As Enterprise Sales VP for Public Sector, you will own direct sales cycles and expand Garner's footprint with large public-sector clients. This is an individual contributor role with a defined national territory covering public-sector entities with 10,000 to 100,000 lives, including school districts, cities, counties, universities, and public benefit pools.
Key responsibilities include: managing direct sales cycles and quotas across a named national book of public-sector entities; running RFP-driven pursuits end-to-end including procurement compliance, consultant management, finalist presentations, and board/committee approvals (typically 9-18 month cycles); staying current with market knowledge and competitor products; and developing strategic relationships with public-sector benefits consultants and directors.
You'll need a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of deep sales experience focused on health benefits (medical, ancillary, vendor) through brokers, consultants, and insurers. Five or more years selling into public-sector entities is strongly preferred, with deep fluency in public procurement mechanics (RFP cycles, evaluation scoring, protest risk, sunshine laws, board dynamics). Existing relationships within the public-sector consultant ecosystem (Segal, Aon, WTW, Mercer, Gallagher) and with public-sector benefits directors are essential. Minimum 3+ years experience selling to large enterprise clients required. You should demonstrate data literacy, ability to develop sales processes and playbooks, and genuine commitment to mission-driven work with measurable outcomes.
Garner is headquartered in NYC but this role is fully remote with occasional travel to HQ. The company emphasizes ambitious problem-solving, real ownership, and working alongside exceptional, principles-based people. The work sits at the intersection of AI and systemic healthcare reform.
