Abnormal AI is hiring an Enterprise Sales Engineer to serve as the technical authority in complex enterprise sales cycles. You will partner with Account Executives to conduct product demonstrations, lead architecture-level technical discussions with security, email, and identity teams, and own Proof of Value (POV) programs from discovery through successful close.
Key responsibilities include: serving as the primary technical decision partner throughout the sales cycle; leading architecture-level conversations with security, infrastructure, and identity teams; conducting technical discovery to uncover customer risk and requirements; running competitive landscape research; confidently answering modern threat and architecture questions; articulating why legacy secure email gateways fail against social engineering and identity-based attacks; educating sales teams and partners on Abnormal AI's platform and security posture; and driving customer satisfaction and enterprise outcomes.
You will tie technology to measurable risk reduction and business outcomes at enterprise scale, influence senior security, IT, and executive stakeholders in both virtual and in-person settings, and create value-driven presentations that tell compelling stories.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of Sales Engineering or relevant industry experience; demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery and architecture discussions with security, infrastructure, identity, and compliance teams; strong technical presentation and communication skills (verbal and written); ability to see the big picture and architect solutions to complex business challenges; ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise sales environment; positive attitude with strong customer focus and ownership over results; solid technical understanding of SaaS security models including multi-tenant cloud environments; working knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, and enterprise networking concepts as they relate to email and SaaS security.
Nice-to-have skills include: experience with enterprise email security platforms (Proofpoint, Mimecast, Cisco, Barracuda); technical background in messaging and internet security; hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Online/Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace; strong understanding of SMTP mail flow, MX records, and mail routing; working knowledge of email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC); understanding of cloud SaaS infrastructure and identity services (Azure AD/Entra ID/Google Identity); ability to explain identity-driven and modern social engineering attacks at an architectural level; experience integrating SaaS platforms via OAuth and REST APIs; familiarity with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel) and SOC workflows; experience with incident response teams; security certifications (CISSP, CEH, or equivalent).
The ideal candidate is located in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan, though the role is remote.
