As an Enterprise Sales Engineer at Datadog, you'll partner closely with Account Executives to help enterprise customers understand and adopt the Datadog observability and security platform. You'll own the technical strategy across the sales cycle, from prospect qualification through closed won, acting as a trusted advisor who bridges business goals with technical solutions. Key responsibilities include leading customer discovery sessions to uncover technical challenges and business objectives, then translating those into tailored Datadog solutions. You'll deliver compelling product demos, technical presentations, and workshops that connect platform capabilities to measurable customer outcomes. You'll project-manage proof-of-concept evaluations end-to-end, defining success criteria, building project plans with clear timelines, and ensuring accountability across all participants. You'll identify and cultivate technical champions within customer accounts, empowering them to advocate for Datadog internally and drive consensus. You'll participate in structured product and engineering feedback sessions, serving as the voice of the customer to help shape product direction. Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Support, and GTM teams is essential to address customer needs and resolve technical blockers. You'll maintain operational excellence by documenting activity, deal progress, and customer interactions in CRM systems, and you'll be willing to travel as needed to support customer engagements. You bring 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or technical customer-facing roles in enterprise environments. You're skilled at navigating multi-stakeholder environments and adapting your communication style for technical, business, and executive audiences. You have a strong background in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, APM/tracing, security, developer experience, and observability. You're a consultative problem-solver with strong communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and you embrace change and AI tools.
