Datadog is seeking an Enterprise Sales Engineer to join its Osaka office. In this hybrid role, you will provide technical expertise during customer presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value (POV) evaluations for enterprise clients. You will assess solution feasibility during customer and partner engagements, drive deals to successful closure, and advocate for feature prioritization to the product team based on customer, competitive, and partner feedback.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with sales teams, technical account managers, CSMs, and account teams to communicate Datadog's overall value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
- Provide technical support during trial phases, communicating Datadog's value and working with customers to address identified concerns
- Close complex deals through advanced industry knowledge, technical skills, and trusted customer relationships
- Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to prospective customers
- Actively communicate with customers and internal business/technical teams regarding product feedback and competitive positioning
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in sales engineering (presales) or related roles
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Passion for identifying and solving business-critical problems for customers; ability to build and execute evaluation plans collaboratively
- Self-motivated, technically proficient professional who understands enterprise business requirements and can articulate Datadog's value and technical details to C-level executives, technical experts, and everyone in between
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly convey both business value and technical advantages
- Experience with at least one programming/scripting language: Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, .NET, or similar
