Ema is building an Agentic AI platform to transform enterprise productivity. Founded by former executives from Google, Coinbase, Flipkart, and Okta, the company is backed by Accel, Naspers/Prosus, Section32, and angels including Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Headquartered in Silicon Valley with offices in London, Bangalore, and Vancouver, Ema is shipping production-grade AI systems that run real business processes at scale. As Enterprise BDR Leader, you own the BDR function end-to-end, managing a distributed team of ~7 Business Development Representatives across the US and India. This is a newly created role—the BDR function has operated without a dedicated full-time manager, and you will establish the rigor and structure needed to scale it. Key responsibilities include: (1) hiring, ramping, and managing the BDR team with daily coaching, 1:1 cadence, and career development pathways into Account Executive or Sales Ops roles; (2) running a metrics-driven operating rhythm with daily activity reviews, weekly SQL and pipeline reviews by account tier, and call-recording spot checks; (3) executing Ema's signal-led ABM system using Clay for account tiering and fit × intent scoring, managing multichannel outbound sequences, and protecting SQL-to-demo conversion rates; (4) rebuilding BDR enablement and training into a simplified, gated 90-day ramp with clear milestones; (5) closing the loop with Account Executives on SQL quality, partnering with Marketing on signal sources and messaging, and representing the BDR function in pipeline and forecast reviews; (6) owning prioritization and coverage of Ema's 1,300+ target enterprise accounts, deciding which accounts get worked and at what intensity. Success in 90 days means: every BDR has a documented account list and working outbound cadence with weekly manager reviews; a simplified enablement track with faster certification; SQL volume and conversion visible on a live dashboard with fixed review cadence; at least one underperforming rep on an improvement plan or transitioned; and measurably decreased SQL handoff friction with the AE team. You bring 4+ years managing a BDR/SDR team in enterprise B2B SaaS, ideally selling into $1B+ revenue accounts or HR/People buyers, with a track record of hitting team-level pipeline targets. You're metrics-driven, fluent with modern outbound tooling (Clay, HubSpot/Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sequencing platforms), and comfortable managing across US and India time zones. You're hands-on—listening to calls, rewriting copy, and diving into live sequence reviews when numbers indicate issues. Bonus experience includes selling or managing outbound into HR, People, or Employee Experience buyers, and scaling a BDR function from a handful of reps into a structured team. Some travel expected for team onsites and sales kickoffs.
