Anthropic is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive based in Tokyo to drive adoption of frontier AI technology across Japan's retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and general trading sectors. You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing, working with senior leaders at major retailers, CPG manufacturers, and trading companies (sogo shosha) to help them optimize operations, strengthen supply chains, personalize customer experiences, and sharpen competitive positioning using Anthropic's AI solutions.
Key responsibilities include owning and exceeding revenue targets by winning new major accounts and expanding existing relationships; building and executing territory plans targeting supermarket and convenience store groups, specialty retailers, food & beverage manufacturers, and trading company groups; leading consultative sales processes with C-suite and senior executives (CIOs, CDOs, CMOs, supply chain heads); and orchestrating internal cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Applied AI, Partnerships) to deliver integrated solutions that meet Japan's APPI data privacy requirements.
You will position AI applications across demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization, trade and supply chain operations, and enhanced customer experience. Success requires navigating complex stakeholder ecosystems with multiple budget authorities and approval layers, managing pipeline through seasonal retail cycles and consensus-driven procurement processes.
Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan with significant exposure to retail, CPG, and/or trading company accounts; a proven track record closing strategic deals with large-scale retailers and manufacturers; demonstrated ability to exceed revenue targets; and fluency in both Japanese and English. A passion for safe, responsible AI development and comfort operating in ambiguous, startup-like environments are valued.
