Salary: USD 190,000 - 210,000 / annual
OpenGov is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive to lead all sales efforts within an assigned territory for a defined product suite. The role encompasses territory planning, prospect identification, lead generation, sales cycle management, and ownership of sales calls, proposals, and contract negotiations through deal closure.
Key responsibilities include leading customer relationships and driving overall strategy for a specific territory; collaborating with the Enterprise Pod Leader to close complex multi-suite enterprise opportunities; establishing and managing relationships with senior government leaders; generating new leads through networking, prospecting, and cold calling; making sales presentations to customers and prospects at various organizational levels; developing thorough knowledge of company products and government verticals (local/state governments, special districts, nonprofits, higher education, school districts); addressing product use cases, benefits, and competitive advantages; conducting target account selling activities; developing professional relationships with existing customers and prospects; collaborating with marketing on demand-generation campaigns; leading contract negotiations; partnering with marketing on trade show leads; taking ownership of sales process management using MEDDIC methodology; maintaining in-depth knowledge of the product suite and competitive landscape; and meeting or exceeding quota expectations.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; 5+ years of quota-carrying software sales experience; strong work ethic and hunter mentality; ability to thrive in collaborative environments; curiosity and coachability; demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding quotas; proven ability to close complex, consultative deals; willingness to travel up to 50%; passion for selling technology; ability to speak with senior executives about organizational direction and budgets; self-motivation, creativity, and results-driven orientation; competitiveness; ability to remain focused during rapid change; crisp written communication; and CRM experience (ideally Salesforce). Experience in the State and Local Government vertical is a bonus but not required.
