Cloudflare is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Radar & Insights team, a group of approximately eight engineers responsible for building Internet measurement products and the systems behind them. You will own people management, execution, and engineering quality while partnering closely with Product Management and other engineering teams across Cloudflare. The Radar & Insights team operates at the intersection of distributed systems, large-scale data, Internet measurement, and product engineering. The team builds systems behind radar.cloudflare.com, Cloudflare Speed Test, and Internet measurement and analytics platforms. They turn signals from Cloudflare's global network into useful insights, publish analysis of DDoS attacks and Internet events, and power recurring reports like the Cloudflare Year in Review. This is a management role for someone who is deeply technically credible. While you won't be expected to write most of the code, you should understand the systems your team operates, challenge architectural decisions, ask the right questions when issues arise, and step into technical problems when needed. Your success will be measured by the quality and output of your team, the engineers you develop, and the systems and products they deliver. Key responsibilities include managing and coaching engineers across Radar, Speed Test, and Internet measurement systems; owning team execution by establishing priorities and creating predictable delivery; improving quality, reliability, and usability of data and insights; evolving Speed Test and measurement capabilities; partnering with Product Management to shape the roadmap; and exploring how Cloudflare's unique network perspective can be turned into new opportunities. Cloudflare operates one of the world's largest networks observing billions of signals. A major focus is turning more of that unique perspective into useful, reliable, and consumable insights—improving existing products, helping other Cloudflare products make better decisions, and identifying entirely new opportunities. The team is tight-knit, communicates and collaborates regularly, celebrates achievements, supports each other through mistakes, and holds work to the highest standard. The role may require flexibility to be on-call outside standard working hours to address technical issues.
