As Engineering Manager for Product Engineers, you will lead a team of talented engineers building the core developer experience of the Render platform. This role blends strong technical leadership with product thinking, requiring close partnership with product managers and designers to translate user needs into high-quality, scalable systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing a team of product engineers through mentorship, feedback, and technical guidance
- Driving execution on key product initiatives from ideation through launch, balancing speed with reliability and quality
- Partnering with Product and Design teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions and roadmaps
- Engaging deeply in technical discussions and guiding system design decisions
- Fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Breaking down complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value quickly
- Ensuring the team maintains strong understanding of developer experience and customer impact
- Collaborating with product management, customers, and internal teams to align priorities and ensure delivery
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years as an engineer shipping products/features with downstream business impact
- 2+ years managing people, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management
- Strong technical background with ability to engage in system design and architecture
- Product-oriented mindset translating business goals into engineering roadmaps
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design
- Strong sense of ownership for team outcomes and long-term system health
Nice-to-haves include experience with developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, DevTools, distributed systems, engineering velocity improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.
