Applied Intuition is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 8-12 Forward Deployed Engineers focused on deploying physical AI solutions to defense and government customers. This is a high-visibility, player-coach role where you'll own end-to-end execution of mission-critical projects, represent the company with authority to defense and government stakeholders, and drive delivery outcomes across a portfolio of concurrent programs. You will work directly with defense and government customers to deploy, integrate, and operationalize Applied Intuition's vehicle intelligence products in military environments, from defense contractors to forward operating bases. The role spans a broad range of technical challenges including software engineering, operating system configuration, system deployment, and hardware integration. You'll bridge customer-built systems with Applied's solutions, design scalable approaches for customer engagement, and develop architectural solutions that improve consistency across projects. As a manager, you'll hire and develop exceptional engineers, set technical direction across engagements, and build repeatable delivery practices. You'll stay close to the technology, reviewing architectures, pressure-testing integration approaches, and diving in when programs need technical leadership. You'll serve as the escalation point for ambiguity, changing requirements, and hard technical tradeoffs. The role requires collaboration with internal engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure successful outcomes and ownership of technical results. Required qualifications: 8+ years of industry experience with at least 2 years of recent technical leadership exposure. Production-grade software experience with deployed systems to active customers (not R&D). Exceptional customer-facing skills and proven mentorship of engineering talent. Strong background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Broad technical experience across software, operating systems, and hardware. Experience supporting integration and deployment of complex systems. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
