Nelly is building an AI-driven financial operating system for European healthcare, automating administrative workflows for medical practices. The company has raised over €50 million in Series B funding and operates from Berlin with a mission to reduce paperwork and enable healthcare professionals to focus on patient care.
You will lead a fast-moving Product Engineering team within the Automation Domain, responsible for building and owning Nelly's core SaaS and AI products. This includes patient and doctor portals, back-office systems, practice workflow automation, and AI-powered products like the AI Scribe, Billing Agent, and Treatment Plan generation tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing a team of 3–6 software and AI engineers
- Collaborating with product management to iteratively build, launch, and improve new products
- Owning hiring and team development, building a high-performing engineering organization
- Keeping the team at the cutting edge of LLM and AI-based engineering
- Ensuring product quality, reliability, security, and high availability
- Staying hands-on and contributing code alongside the team
- Participating in engineering-wide leadership initiatives
Required qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager with 8+ years of overall software development experience
- Strong technical background building customer-facing products
- Experience with TypeScript or similar ecosystems
- Cloud-native development experience
- Proven ability to design, build, and own customer-facing products and production back-end systems
- Deep understanding of software engineering processes and team management
- Strong empathy and communication skills
