FalconX is a fintech platform revolutionizing institutional access to cryptocurrency markets by bridging traditional finance and digital assets. The company provides comprehensive solutions for digital asset trading strategies, liquidity management, and market navigation. As Engineering Manager for the Credit team, you will lead the technical strategy and execution of core credit systems, including the margin notification engine and loan booking system. This is a hands-on management role with a 40% technical leadership focus, 20–30% stakeholder management, and 20–30% people leadership. Technical Leadership & Architecture (40%): Drive long-term system maintenance, architectural refactoring, and code quality improvements. Balance technical debt resolution with business feature delivery. Oversee reliability, precision, and efficiency of margin notification and loan booking systems. Make decisive architectural roadmap decisions prioritizing system longevity. Streamline engineering workflows by removing friction and avoiding over-engineered solutions. Integrate modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding, into daily team processes. Process & Stakeholder Management (20–30%): Partner with product and business stakeholders to prioritize deliverables. Make decisive trade-offs on technical scope and feature prioritization. Maintain lean execution by cutting unnecessary overhead and redundant work. People Management & Mentorship (20–30%): Manage and mentor a team of senior technical professionals. Lead performance reviews, hiring, retention, and team alignment initiatives. Guide career growth and technical development. Required qualifications: 2–3 years of hands-on people management experience, including performance cycles, hiring, and retention. Strong backend engineering foundation with primary proficiency in Python. Proven ability to make pragmatic decisions on technical scope and trade-offs. Preferred: prior experience scaling lending businesses or working in fintech/credit domains. Candidates from high-throughput distributed systems backgrounds with strong finance interest and learning agility will be considered. Nice-to-have: ~1 year of product management experience.
