The Engagement Marketing Strategist is a strategic marketing partner to the Client Management organization and key member of the Member Engagement Marketing team. This individual contributor role supports Client Managers in driving Modern Health awareness, registration, and meaningful member engagement within client populations.
You will develop client-specific communication strategies and campaigns to improve awareness, activation, ongoing engagement, and re-engagement. You'll partner closely with Client Managers to understand client goals, workforce needs, and member engagement opportunities. You will advise on audience segmentation, message sequencing, channel mix, localization, timing, calls to action, and measurement. You'll support client launches, open enrollment, benefit changes, new-hire moments, and other high-impact opportunities.
Key responsibilities include: developing communication strategies and campaigns aligned with client priorities; equipping Client Managers with strategic recommendations, talk tracks, and data-informed points of view; supporting client launches and high-impact moments; developing custom communications balancing client objectives and member needs; building repeatable playbooks, toolkits, templates, and frameworks for scalable delivery; and using campaign and population data to identify opportunities, recommend tests, and improve future strategies.
Success means establishing trusted partnerships with Client Managers, creating a clear repeatable approach for client-specific engagement strategies, improving the quality and consistency of recommendations, demonstrating measurable progress against engagement outcomes, and helping the Member Engagement Marketing team operate more proactively with less reliance on reactive support.
Modern Health is a fully remote workforce with a culture centered on high empathy, high accountability, and a drive to win. The company requires overlapping hours; US-based team members outside Pacific time zone are expected to work at least six hours between 8 am and 5 pm Pacific time daily.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–8 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, customer marketing, member engagement, client strategy, integrated marketing, or related field
- Experience developing communication or engagement strategies for multiple audiences, customers, clients, or market segments
- Experience planning and executing multi-touch, multi-channel campaigns and understanding how audience, message, timing, and channel work together
- Strong strategic consulting skills with ability to understand business needs, identify underlying opportunities, and recommend focused paths forward
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to make complex ideas clear and persuasive for internal and external audiences
- Comfort using data and performance insights to make recommendations, prioritize opportunities, and improve campaign effectiveness
- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple clients, priorities, and stakeholders in fast-moving environment
- Proven ability to influence without authority and build alignment across cross-functional teams
- Member- or customer-centered mindset with high bar for clarity, relevance, and inclusive communication
- Must be able to maintain work authorization without employer sponsorship (no immigration sponsorship available)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, benefits, employee engagement, SaaS, or complex high-consideration products/services
- Experience supporting enterprise clients or partnering with account, client success, customer success, or sales teams
- Experience with lifecycle marketing platforms, CRM, marketing automation tools, campaign analytics, experimentation, or audience segmentation
- Experience developing scalable playbooks, enablement materials, or communication frameworks
- Experience working across global audiences, languages, regions, or culturally diverse populations
