CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to join our software team and contribute to the full software development lifecycle from product concept through production and in-orbit support.
You will work on embedded Linux development with a strong focus on the Yocto build system. Key responsibilities include device driver development, kernel customization, bootloader work, and board bring-up activities. Experience with the Xilinx platform is preferred, though experience with other embedded platforms is valued.
This role involves close collaboration with hardware, systems, and FPGA engineers across a dynamic, cross-functional environment. You will participate in architecture design, implementation, testing, and qualification activities. The position offers opportunities for technical leadership and hands-on, autonomous work across multiple disciplines.
You will engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from early-stage product concept through production deployment and ongoing in-orbit mission support.
