Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Test Design to develop and deliver comprehensive test systems for our advanced aerial and ground-based defense systems, including platforms like Roadrunner, Ghost, Anvil, and Fury. This role is part of the Electrical Test Engineering team, which ensures quality and reliability across our product portfolio through innovative manufacturing test solutions.
You will lead end-of-line test plan definition for new products and features in close collaboration with firmware, software, and hardware design teams. Your responsibilities include determining optimal test strategies that balance product safety, reliability, risk mitigation, and schedule efficiency. You'll design and execute PCBA and electrical system component testing, including hands-on testing and rework as needed.
Key deliverables include designing and implementing next-generation test automation hardware systems, developing test procedures from component to system level, and executing the full lifecycle of functional testers—from purchasing and build through integration and commissioning. You will perform data analysis, communicate results clearly, and collaborate with design engineers to resolve product issues identified through testing.
Additional responsibilities include supporting board bring-up and bench validation, providing design-for-test (DFT) feedback to improve quality and coverage, supporting manufacturing test bring-up and yield optimization, and participating in design reviews. You'll work cross-functionally with Product Engineering groups spanning electrical, mechanical, and firmware disciplines to continuously improve manufacturing processes and product reliability.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), 5+ years of hands-on experience designing functional test equipment, and 2+ years with schematic capture and/or PCBA layout (Altium Designer experience is a plus). You must have scripting language experience (C/C++/C#, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW) and familiarity with communication bus protocols (USB, I2C, I2S, CSI, Ethernet, SPI, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, serial). Additional requirements include understanding of lab safety, measurement analysis techniques (Gage R&R, Process Capability Analysis), hardware/software integration, and source code revision control (GitHub experience preferred). Security clearance eligibility is required.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, proficiency in MS Office and Visio, RF test equipment experience (Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters), and experience testing RF components (power amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, filters).
