Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, California. The company is a defense technology firm focused on transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology, including AI-powered operating systems, autonomy, computer vision, and sensor fusion.
In this role, you will own the full cycle of PCB design—from requirements collection through schematic design, component selection, layout supervision, bring-up, testing, debug, and system integration. You'll work closely with avionics engineers to review and design electrical integration details, ensuring proper documentation and stakeholder communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting bring-up and design work on microcontrollers with seamless system integration
- Troubleshooting issues spanning electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.) and basic software debugging tools
- Performing power design, including development and integration of power management systems
- Developing payloads and subsystems (sensors, payload interfaces, power management, networking)
- Creating system interconnect diagrams and defining wire harnesses for subsystem connections
- Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers on mission-critical products
- Conducting peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex systems. You must have strong competence with lab test equipment, familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422, RS485, USB), hands-on microcontroller experience, and knowledge of modern analog/digital electronics. Experience with mixed-signal PCB design, power electronics, and low/high voltage systems is essential. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include experience with high-end consumer or military embedded systems, battery and AC power systems, low-level firmware development, defense and missile systems background, and understanding of temperature and vibration effects on electrical designs.
This is a fast-paced role supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware.
