Salary: USD 121,000 - 142,000 / annual

Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company focused on powering the world's transition to clean energy. They engineer and manufacture advanced battery materials that increase energy density while reducing size and weight, enabling smaller, more powerful batteries for consumer devices and electric vehicles. You will serve as the primary electrical engineer for their industrial manufacturing facility in Moses Lake, responsible for designing, deploying, and improving electrical power systems and controls infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in industrial electrical engineering and controls programming. Key responsibilities include: - Design and improve electrical power and communication systems across production units - Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource, specializing in power distribution and industrial safety - Maintain, improve, and deploy machine control code, instrumentation, and electrical subsystems - Contribute to internally-developed software libraries used across research and production-scale units - Gather user feedback and iterate on improvements Required qualifications: - 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field - Experience deploying code on systems that interact with the physical world - Proficiency in Structured Text and other IEC 61131-3 languages - Strong understanding of field-deployed electronics, sensors, and motion components - Experience implementing industrial Fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, EthernetIP, Modbus, etc.) - Expertise in industrial electrical design: wiring diagrams, network architecture, control panel design, power distribution, NFPA 70/79/70E standards, arc flash protocols - Knowledge of hazardous area classifications (Class I/II, Div 1 & 2) and intrinsically safe wiring - Understanding of machine-to-facility integration (SCADA, MES, ERP) - Document control and as-builts documentation experience - B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related technical field The role requires working in a manufacturing environment with physical demands including wearing PPE, respirator fit testing, moving items up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and entering confined spaces. This is an on-site position in Moses Lake, WA.
