Inspira Education is a fast-growing edtech startup backed by leading VCs (Zeev Ventures, Quiet Capital, Craft Ventures, Jeff Fluhr) that democratizes access to high-quality coaching for medical, legal, business, and college admissions. The company operates as the world's leading network of top admissions coaches, combining software and services to disrupt traditional application processes.
As Editor, Digital Content, you will establish and maintain the quality bar for all published content across Inspira's blog, guides, and marketing materials. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring deep editorial expertise, authority to challenge subject-matter experts, and understanding of how content performs in both human-readable and AI-driven search contexts.
Key responsibilities include:
**Editorial Quality**: Catch spelling, grammar, factual, and formatting errors before publication. Rewrite passive constructions into active voice, eliminate jargon in favor of plain language, and tighten bloated sentences. Verify heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) is logical and accurate. Trace claims, stats, and quotes back to primary sources and flag anything unverified. Ensure proper nouns and terms are defined on first mention within each section.
**Style & Standards**: Own and apply Inspira's house style consistently across punctuation, capitalization, formatting, and tone. Flag deviations rather than silently fixing them, so writers internalize the rules. Evolve the style guide as content and audience grow, building team buy-in rather than dictating changes.
**Search & AI Optimization**: Match content format to search intent (listicles for transactional queries, guides for informational). Ensure sections lead with the point in the first sentence or two rather than burying key information. Break content into self-contained chunks that each answer one question clearly, so they can be cited in isolation by skimming readers or summarizing LLMs.
**Coaching & Development**: Work directly with coaches, subject-matter experts, and the content team to take drafts from rough to publish-ready. Be equally comfortable tightening a sentence and explaining why it needed tightening, so writers improve with each interaction. Sit at the center of how Inspira thinks about content quality as a discipline.
This is a full-time, in-person role requiring 5 days per week attendance at the NYC office in Gramercy.
