Brodie League is a fast-growing North American recreational basketball brand serving 50,000 athletes across 20+ locations. As District Manager for League Operations, you will oversee multi-location districts spanning multiple time zones (Vancouver to Boston) and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
You will own the performance, consistency, and overall health of your assigned district. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role requiring you to build systems from scratch, take ownership without being asked, and travel extensively to support locations. You'll develop and coach League Managers who run individual game days, serve as the first point of escalation for operational issues, and ensure every location meets the Brodie Standard.
Core responsibilities include:
- Ensuring consistent execution across game flow, staffing, stats, content, and player experience at all district locations
- Monitoring weekly execution and identifying gaps early; conducting regular in-person site visits including multi-day trips (up to 14 consecutive days)
- Developing strong, independent location leaders through coaching and direct feedback, including difficult conversations when performance falls short
- Ensuring compliance with Brodie systems, playbooks, workflows, SOPs, checklists, and key metrics
- Supporting new market launches from planning through execution, including market research, hiring, onboarding, and training
- Identifying high-friction workflows and partnering with teams to implement automation and efficiency improvements
- Driving adoption of new tools and systems across the district
You will be based full-time at the Toronto HQ with 5 days in-office required to maintain the collaborative culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience directly managing and leading a team; must be able to articulate the number of direct reports led and how you measured their success
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing, coaching, and holding managers accountable, including having difficult conversations when standards aren't met
- Comfort building processes and structure from the ground up in a fast-scaling, still-forming environment rather than operating within established systems
- Proven ability to drive adoption of standardized systems and processes across multiple locations or teams
- Effective problem-solver who can triage escalations and resolve issues quickly
- Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including multi-day trips (up to 14 consecutive days), to support out-of-market locations
- Sales or business-development experience is a strong asset
- Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
