You will lead Airwallex's commercial expansion in Spain, a key growth market for the EMEA region. As Director of SME & Growth, you'll build and lead a cross-functional commercial team including Sales Development, Inbound/Outbound Sales, Account Management, and Channel Partnerships. Your mandate is to acquire new clients, expand existing customer relationships through upsells and cross-sells, and establish Airwallex as the market leader in global banking and payments.
Key responsibilities include: hiring and inspiring high-performing teams to exceed regional targets; developing and executing the end-to-end go-to-market strategy using data and market insights; managing P&L and commercial contribution margins; engaging directly with strategic customers and prospects; building a positive, high-performing team culture; and strengthening Airwallex's brand presence in Spain through market engagement and strategic collaboration.
You'll work as part of the commercial leadership team in EMEA, driving strategic decision-making aligned with regional and global objectives. The role requires balancing speed with rigor, leveraging AI to work smarter, and solving complex problems with exceptional teammates.
Minimum qualifications: 8+ years in sales, revenue growth, or go-to-market leadership with direct P&L ownership; proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams in dynamic, high-growth environments; strong analytical and data-driven approach to strategy; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams.
Preferred: top-tier university background with early career consulting or strategic experience; experience launching and scaling go-to-market teams in hyper-growth fintech or payments startups; demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to evolving market conditions.
