Flex is a growth-stage fintech company headquartered in NYC that is transforming rent payments by enabling renters to pay throughout the month on a flexible schedule that fits their finances. This is a founding Director-level role leading the Sales Solutions Engineering function for Flex's expansion into new enterprise verticals.
You will own the technical sale on Flex's largest and most strategically important deals, serving as the tip of the spear for complex enterprise relationships. Your responsibilities span the full solution engineering lifecycle: translating complex customer environments into winning proposals, building conviction with technical and executive stakeholders, ensuring delivery feasibility through close partnership with Product and Engineering, and architecting solutions that are both commercially compelling and technically sound.
As the founding hire for this function, you'll start as a hands-on operator with Director scope. You'll build the foundational playbooks, demo environments, discovery frameworks, and hiring plans that the function scales on. This includes owning proof-of-concept and pilot execution, leading structured deals that de-risk customer decisions, and functioning as a true co-owner alongside Account Executives on deal strategy.
A critical part of this role is building the New Verticals SE function itself. You'll document integration patterns, objection handling, and competitive differentiation as Flex enters each vertical. You'll create reusable assets that accelerate productivity for future hires, define and execute the SE hiring plan, and transition from founding IC to player-coach to people leader as the team scales. You'll also serve as connective tissue between field and product, synthesizing technical feedback from deals into structured product input and influencing the roadmap.
You'll partner deeply with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development to shape how Flex shows up in the enterprise market and build credibility with new customer segments.
