Salary: USD 165,000 - 200,000 / annual
ClearGov is building the modern financial operating layer for the public sector, helping US local governments and school districts plan, budget, report, and communicate their finances. The company serves over 2,000 public sector organizations with a suite of 13 products across cities, counties, school districts, and special districts.
As Director of Product & Solution Marketing, you will lead the elevation of product marketing from strong product-level execution to platform-and-solution-level strategy. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will define how ClearGov positions, packages, and brings to market its diverse product portfolio across distinct customer segments and buying dynamics.
This is a highly visible leadership role with meaningful autonomy and direct access to the executive team and board. You will serve as a strategic partner to the VP of Marketing, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer, translating customer and market insight into portfolio choices and measurable commercial impact.
You will manage an established team of four product marketers, creating a five-person organization with opportunity to grow as the function expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing and packaging strategy, setting direction for bundling, discounting, and launch pricing in partnership with Product, Finance, and Revenue teams
- Define portfolio and commercialization strategy, identifying how products fit together, bundling and cross-sell opportunities, and positioning variations across customer segments
- Shape executive decision-making by representing product marketing to the executive team and board, connecting market, customer, and competitive insight to growth priorities
- Lead and develop the product marketing organization, building on team strengths while expanding capabilities in portfolio strategy, market intelligence, pricing, and commercial planning
- Build scalable launch and integration models for new products and acquired companies
- Strengthen expansion motions through cross-sell, upsell, and account-based growth programs
- Establish market and customer intelligence discipline including competitive analysis, win-loss analysis, and industry engagement
- Own market narrative and field adoption, crafting outcome-based messaging that differentiates ClearGov and ensuring sales adoption of marketing assets
- Create clear measures of impact, connecting product marketing performance to adoption, expansion, win rates, and revenue outcomes
Requirements:
- Significant product marketing leadership experience in B2B SaaS at Director or Senior Director level, or comparable scope
- Experience owning go-to-market or commercialization strategy across multi-product/platform portfolios, multiple customer segments, or distinct buyer personas
- Pricing and packaging experience, including bundling, discounting, or launch pricing
- Track record of translating customer, market, and competitive insight into positioning, portfolio, investment, or growth decisions
- People leadership experience building, developing, and elevating a product marketing team
- Strong partnership with Product, Sales, and Marketing leaders in mid-market or enterprise sales environments
- Executive presence and sound judgment, with ability to operate autonomously, align senior stakeholders, and communicate strategy to executives and board members
- Comfort operating in growing, evolving business where portfolio priorities and organizational needs change
- Experience with mid-market or lower-enterprise B2B SaaS products in the $30K–$60K ARR range with sales cycles of approximately three to four months
Preferred Experience:
- Programmatic growth motions such as account-based marketing, cross-sell, or upsell at scale
- Enterprise SaaS products of $75K–$250M+
- Background in GovTech, FinTech, finance, accounting, compliance, or other technical or regulated verticals
- Growth through M&A, portfolio expansion, or product-line integration
- Building win-loss, competitive intelligence, or industry analyst programs
