Spring Health is seeking a Director of People Operations & Intelligence to lead the systems, processes, and workforce insights that enable the People function to operate reliably and scale intelligently. Reporting to the VP of Total Rewards & People Operations, you will own the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding and offboarding to critical workforce changes—while building advanced analytics capabilities that inform executive decision-making. Key responsibilities include: leading the strategy and execution of core HR operations; enhancing the People service-delivery model across self-service, employee support, and specialist escalation; refining process ownership and operational controls to eliminate manual work and single-point dependencies; owning the HRIS roadmap and broader People technology ecosystem; developing an AI strategy for People Operations focused on automation and efficiency; partnering with IT, Security, Legal, and Compliance on governance; building workforce intelligence capabilities around headcount, attrition, mobility, and labor costs; and leading a multidisciplinary team across People Operations and HR. You will establish clear data definitions, governance standards, and scalable reporting tools. Success metrics include reliable execution of core processes, successful HRIS implementation in 2027, enterprise data governance, high-impact AI and automation solutions, and measurable reduction in manual touchpoints and key-person dependencies. Required: 10+ years of progressive leadership in People Operations, HR Technology, Workforce Analytics, or HR Shared Services. Demonstrated track record stabilizing core HR operations while scaling modernized models. Deep knowledge of employee lifecycle workflows, operational controls, data governance, and enterprise HRIS systems. Proven experience developing HR technology, automation, and workforce analytics strategies. Practical experience with AI, automation, or low-code tools. Strong systems-thinking and executive communication skills. Ability to build and retain high-performing teams. Preferred: Experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS platforms; leadership of major HRIS implementations or system migrations; background supporting rapid growth in complex, distributed, or regulated environments. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York City, requiring 2-3 days per week in office with occasional travel for company or team events.
