Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual
Via is transforming transportation through technology, operating an innovative intermodal transit service. As Director of Strategy and Operations, you will lead the Rochester, MN operations—a first-of-its-kind service where you'll build systems and processes in real time rather than follow an established playbook.
You will manage daily on-site operations, serving as the primary point of contact for drivers, dispatchers, and the broader team. This is a hands-on leadership role spanning entrepreneurship, business development, and operations management. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead, coach, and develop a large team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and ground staff, fostering a collaborative and energetic environment
• Manage real-time operational issues and provide creative solutions for round-the-clock scheduling
• Serve as the face of the operation, building relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations
• Liaise closely with Via senior management and external partners
• Develop clear metrics and KPIs, tracking team performance on a weekly basis
• Analyze data and prepare reports to improve operational processes, resource allocation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies and regulations

REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5+ years of operations management experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Must be local to or willing to relocate to Rochester, MN
• Proven track record leading and developing support teams
• Strong communication skills with ability to adapt tone to different audiences
• Problem-solving mindset; comfortable challenging the status quo
