Decagon is a conversational AI platform enabling enterprises to deploy AI agents for customer support and operations across voice, chat, email, SMS, and other channels. Clients include Avis Budget Group, Block (Cash App/Square), Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas.
You will build and lead Decagon's pre-sales solutions engineering function for EMEA enterprise customers. This is a people-management role combining technical depth, enterprise consultative skills, and team leadership.
Key responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing Solutions Engineering team
- Establish scalable processes and best practices for pre-sales engagements, POCs, and technical validation
- Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align technical capabilities with customer outcomes
- Engage directly with strategic enterprise prospects and customers through discovery, solution design, and ROI validation
- Deliver compelling demonstrations, prototypes, and solution architectures tailored to customer needs
- Serve as an executive-level technical representative in customer meetings, workshops, and industry events
- Define repeatable processes and assets to support team efficiency and long-term growth
- Stay current on enterprise AI adoption patterns, integration strategies, and competitive landscape
Required background:
- 7+ years in pre-sales technical roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or equivalent)
- 3+ years managing or leading pre-sales/solutions engineering teams
- Proven success with large enterprise customers and complex buying cycles
- Strong technical proficiency with enterprise AI deployments, API integrations, and production system architectures
- Excellent communication skills engaging executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams
- Collaborative mindset with track record of building scalable teams and processes
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments
- Strong executive presence and consultative skills
Preferred:
- AI/Generative AI pre-sales engineering or enterprise deployment experience
- Enterprise architecture design, developer tooling, SDKs, and integration patterns
- Software or systems engineering background
- Telephony infrastructure or complex enterprise systems integration experience
- LLM architecture, prompt engineering, and AI-powered solution design knowledge
- Thought leadership through conferences, webinars, or published content
