Emburse seeks a Director of HR Operations to build and lead a scalable HR operations function delivering consistent, responsive, and compliant support across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you will manage a team of HR Generalists, an HR Manager, and an HRIS Analyst, and serve as a strategic partner to HR Centers of Excellence in Total Rewards, Learning, and Talent Acquisition. Key responsibilities include building and developing a high-performing HR operations team with clear roles, service standards, and accountability. You will design and launch HR tools leveraging technology to support employees through disciplined intake, triage, escalation, and knowledge management. You own employee performance management, including employee relations, investigations, manager guidance, documentation, and trend analysis in partnership with Legal and HR Business Partners. You will lead HR compliance and policy administration across applicable geographies, ensuring required records, audits, controls, and consistent practices. HRIS strategy and governance fall under your purview—you'll own data integrity, security, integrations, vendor management, and the roadmap for scalable employee and manager self-service. You'll establish HR metrics and dashboards measuring employee performance, workforce trends, operational effectiveness, and progress against People priorities, connected to business strategy. Additional responsibilities include developing the HR Global Capabilities Center in India to provide transactional support, preparing workforce reporting and insights for the executive team and Board, owning the HR project portfolio with strategic alignment, and overseeing the HR team budget. You'll drive continuous improvement through standardization, automation, and AI-enabled workflows. Required: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; 7+ years progressive HR experience including HR operations or shared services leadership; demonstrated success building or scaling global HR operations or employee-support centers; deep knowledge of employee relations, investigations, compliance, and risk management; HRIS ownership experience (UKG or similar required); ability to define meaningful metrics and translate workforce data for executive/Board reporting; strong program and portfolio management skills; financial acumen; and experience in high-growth SaaS, technology, or PE-backed environments preferred. Experience with automation and AI in HR service delivery is valued.
