Emburse seeks a Director of HR Operations to build and lead a scalable HR operations function delivering consistent, responsive, and compliant support across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you will manage a team of HR Generalists, an HR Manager, and an HRIS Analyst, and serve as a strategic partner to HR Centers of Excellence in Total Rewards, Learning, and Talent Acquisition.
Key responsibilities include building and developing a high-performing HR operations team with clear roles, service standards, and accountability. You will design and launch HR tools leveraging technology to support employees through disciplined intake, triage, escalation, and knowledge management. You own employee performance management, including employee relations, investigations, manager guidance, documentation, and trend analysis in partnership with Legal and HR Business Partners.
You will lead HR compliance and policy administration across applicable geographies, ensuring required records, audits, controls, and consistent practices. HRIS strategy and governance are core to the role—you will own data integrity, security, integrations, vendor management, and the roadmap for scalable employee and manager self-service. You'll establish HR metrics and dashboards measuring employee performance, workforce trends, operational effectiveness, and progress against People priorities, connected to Emburse's business strategy.
Additional responsibilities include developing the HR Global Capabilities Center in India to provide transactional support, preparing workforce reporting and insights for the executive team and Board, owning the HR project portfolio with strategic alignment, and overseeing the HR team budget. You will drive continuous improvement across employee-lifecycle processes through standardization, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and strong cross-functional partnerships.
The ideal candidate is a builder and operator who translates business priorities into practical, forward-looking systems and disciplined execution in a fast-paced environment. You bring 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership of HR operations or shared services. You have demonstrated success building or scaling global HR operations, an HR help desk, or employee-support center. Deep knowledge of employee relations, investigations, policy administration, employment compliance, and risk management is essential. You must have experience owning an HRIS roadmap, data governance, integrations, security, reporting, and vendor management, with required experience using UKG or similar HRIS systems. Strong program and portfolio-management skills, financial acumen, and experience managing budgets and vendor contracts are critical. Experience in high-growth SaaS, technology, consulting, or PE-backed environments is preferred, as is experience applying automation and AI to improve HR service delivery.
