Podium is hiring its first Director of Founder Communications to own external communications strategy and build a founder-led comms function from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role reporting to the CEO (Eric), where you'll exercise extreme ownership, thrive in ambiguity, and move at startup speed.
You'll own the complete communications strategy end-to-end: developing founder thought leadership that positions Podium as the category-defining voice in applied AI for local business; building the motion and cadence that keeps Podium in conversation with strategic customers and investors; creating recurring content programs around launches, milestones, and customer ROI stories; and scaling the founder's social presence on X and LinkedIn.
Key responsibilities include: turning the CEO's point of view into a steady drumbeat of high-quality content (social and long-form essays); standing up AI-native workflows that let a lean team produce at scale by capturing raw material from meetings and customer calls; securing the founder on high-impact podcasts; cultivating a network of Podium champions to amplify content; developing deep understanding of the founder's voice and proactively suggesting angles; and building measurement methodology tied to mindshare, inbound, deal credibility, and pipeline.
You'll be a builder and doer, not a manager of agencies. The role requires exceptional writing and storytelling ability, media instincts, sharp strategic thinking, and experience running comms or founder content at high-growth tech or AI companies. You must thrive in a founder-led approach, move with extreme velocity, and protect the CEO's time while shipping great work quickly. This is one of the most unique comms jobs in tech right now—the connective tissue between Podium's story and the audiences who need to hear it.
