Veeam is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the PrivacyOps Platform, a core product suite defining the PrivacyOps category. You will provide overarching technical leadership for the Securiti Product Suite, managing multiple cross-functional engineering modules responsible for end-to-end product delivery. This is a hands-on director role that balances strategic leadership with active technical contribution. Key responsibilities include: - Hands-on Technical Direction: Actively participate in architectural reviews and code sessions, ensuring systems are scalable and reliable. Define technical vision and ensure architectural consistency across all product modules. - Engineering Innovation: Build an AI-first engineering practice leveraging tools like Cursor, Copilot, and custom agents to standardize code quality and accelerate development. Own the architecture and roadmap for a scalable integration and connector framework powering the privacy product suite across SaaS, IaaS, and AI platforms. - Product Delivery: Drive the roadmap for critical PrivacyOps modules including DSR Automation (robotic automation for data subject requests), Consent Lifecycle Management (cookie consent, mobile consent, user preferences across jurisdictions), Assessment Automation (privacy risk assessments), and Breach & Notice Management (incident response and real-time privacy notices). - Product Management Partnership: Collaborate deeply with Product Management to align engineering execution with business strategy for the Securiti platform. - Strategic Leadership: Mentor and partner with senior engineering leads to scale the product suite, fostering technical excellence and cross-functional agility. Represent engineering in key customer interactions and improve support to customer engagement functions. Required qualifications: - Proven experience with Go and/or Python for building high-concurrency, high-throughput backend systems - Strong background in microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) - Experience leading SDK or integration platform development, normalizing data for compliance and security use cases - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and judgment to implement guardrails - Proven track record managing and growing high-performing engineering teams - Deep understanding of PrivacyOps philosophies and global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) - Ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with strategic organizational leadership
